Nitish government failed to provide relief to flood victims: NCP
Katihar, Sept 6 (UNI) The NCP today alleged that the Nitish Kumar government had failed in distributing the relief materials and foodgrains, provided by the Centre and other states, among the flood victims.
National General Secretary of NCP Tariq Anwar told newspersons here that despite the passage of twenty days, the situation in flood affected areas was pathetic as the victims were not finding any relief from the government.
''The Centre has released 1.25 lakh Metric Tonne of foodgrains for the flood victims of Bihar but the state government did not take suitable steps to procure it from the respective agencies,'' Mr Anwar said and added it was an indication of callous attitude of the state government towards condition of the flood victims.
Mr Anwar said the devastating flood in North Bihar was not at all a natural calamity but it was the result of human negligence and the state government could not shirk its responsibilities in this regard.
He said the NCP would set up more than 200 medical camps in flood affected areas for treatment of the flood victims.
