Moderate earthquake rocks Srinagar
Srinagar, Sep 6 (UNI) A moderate earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale rocked Srinagar and its adjoining areas today.
The quake forced people to rush out of their homes in panic.
There was, however, no report of any loss of life or damage to the property so far, police said.
This was the second tremor in the past 24 hours here. Yesterday a 5.5 magnitude earthquake with epicentre in Afghan-Pakistan border was experienced here at 1032 hrs.
The tremors, which were occurred at 1118 hrs lasted a few seconds.
A met department official said the quake was epicentred at Hindu Kush in Afghanistan.
