Leopard skin, antique weapons worth lakhs seized
Mysore, Sep 6 (UNI) Two persons were arrested and leopard skin and other costly antique weapons worth Rs 5 lakh were seized on the outskirts of the city tonight.
City Police Commissioner Dr Parashivamurthy told newsmen that following a tip off, a team of the city crime branch and forest officials raided a house near Artistans colony and seized a leopard skin, 23 pairs of deer horans, sandalwood idols, besides antique weapons like sword and others, which were kept illegally.
The duo identified as Basher and Thomas used to sell these to probable buyers who had a habit of collection.
A case has been booked under Wildlife Protection Act.
