Congress will restore SAT: Kaul

Shimla, Sep 6 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president Thakur Kaul Singh today announced that the Congress would restore State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) after coming to power in the state.

''The decision to scrap the Tribunal is very unfortunate and against the interest of government employees. We will restore it as soon as we come back to power,'' the HPCC president said in a press conference here.

Condemning the lathicharge on the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) teachers who were protesting outside the Vidhan Sabha complex on Thursday, he said the BJP government was prejudiced against the PTA appointees.

He further alleged that in the BJP rule, Public Distribution System (PDS) had completely collapsed in the state. He demanded to restore rice quota in PDS by purchasing of rice from open market.

''The Centre is releasing rice quota of 7,000 metric tonnes per month to the state and rest required quota could be compensated by purchasing rice from the market.
