Christians and Daliths take out procession
Kolar, Karnataka, Sep 6 (UNI) Hundreds of teachers and other employees of Christian educational institutions today took out procession in protest against the atrocities on Christian Missionaries in Orissa and also seeking withdrawal of notices served on Mission schools by the Karnataka Government.
The agitators, led by President of the State unit of Samatha Sainik Dal M Venkataswamy and President of Christian Teachers' Association E Suresh Babu took out procession shouting slogans.
Addressing the agitators, Mr Venkataswamy criticised the high handed attitude of fundamental elements against Christian Missionaries and urged the Orissa Government to take steps to nab the culprits responsible for attack on missionaries.
Mr Venkataswamy also urged the State Government to withdraw show cause notices served on mission schools for observing a bundh in Karnataka in protest against attacks on missionaries in Orissa.
The agitators later presented a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner H R Srinivas listing out their demands.
