Bihar Govt misleading on flood situation: RJD
Patna, Sep 6: The RJD on Sunday, Sep 7 alleged that the Nitish Kumar led Bihar government was misleading people by making false statements on flood situation in the state. RJD national spokesman Shyam Rajak told newspersons here that the Nitish Kumar regime was deliberately underplaying the casualty figure and those affected by the devastating flood.
''It is virtually an open secret that about 45 lakh people are affected by the flood fury, but the data released by the state government is far below and distorted,'' he charged.
Mr Rajak said the Chief Minister had claimed for evacuating the flood victims within three days, but more than ten days after his announcement, lakhs of people were still stranded in the flood-affected areas of the state.
''It appears that the state government was repeating the utter negligence in relief and rescue operation, as it had committed in carrying out flood protection measures on Kosi embankment,'' he maintained.
