Three special counters for registration of FIRs

Kapurthala, Sep 5 (UNI) To facilitate the complainants in the registration of FIRs, the Kapurthala Police today opened three special counters for the registration of FIRs within 24 hours.

SSP Rakesh Aggarwal said that there was a general complaint from the public that the police stations did not register FIR in the case of theft, burglary and snatching incidents and people were subjected to harassment in the registration of FIRs.

The district police has opened computerised counters at CRPC centre in Kapurthala and Phagwara and in the SSP office.

The complainant will have to fill a performa available at the special counters along with a proof of his identity and he could collect the copy of the FIR on the very next day from these special counters, the SSP said. The complainant could even register the FIR through e-mail at [email protected], he added.
