NREGA victim of corruption in UP: BJP

Lucknow, Sep 5 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today denounced the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government in Uttar Pradesh for massive corruption in the Centre's National Rural Employment Gurantee Act (NREGA).

UP BJP vice-president and spokesperson Hridey Narayan Dixit here said the BSP government was busy making money in the name of NREGA.

Ms Mayawati was only making tall claims, while the ground reality was something else, he added.

''Only 'Corruption' was her agenda, and not employment,'' Mr Dixit alleged.

Therefore, despite appropriate budget, she failed to provide employment to the needy for at least 100 days, the BJP leader said, adding, even too the dalits.
