Heroin worth Rs 66 lakh recovered, one held in Doda
Jammu, Sep 5 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested a smuggler and recovered 660 grams of heroin, worth Rs 66 lakh in the international market, from his possession in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
''Acting on a tip-off about the movement of the smuggler, police laid a trap this afternoon in tehsil Gandoh of Doda district. The accused was intercepted and during frisking, 660 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession,'' police sources told UNI.
The accused has been identified as Showkat Ali, resident of Gandoh and a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against him.
