Puducherry: Four houses gutted in fire

Puducherry, Sep 5: Four houses construced for the tsunami-affected people at Tsunami Nagar, Kalapet, near here were gutted in a fire today.

According to fire service sources, the fire from the house of one Sivakumar, spread to adjoining houses. By the time two fire tenders put out the blaze, four houses were totally gutted.

A fire from a "Kamatchi lamp" was said to be the cause of the blaze.

The loss was estimated to be more than Rs two lakh.
