Sonia's flight diverted due to bad weather

Coimbatore, Sep 4 (UNI) The Special Aircraft carrying Congress President Sonia Gandhi was diverted to Bangalore as it could not land in Coimbatore due to inclement weather.

Airport sources said the flight was scheduled to land here at around 1500 hrs.

Since the weather conditions were not favourable, the flight was diverted to Bangalore.

Ms Gandhi was scheduled to travel in a helicopter to Erode from Coimbatore for addressing a public meeting at 1600 hrs.

She was still held up in Bangalore, reports last reaching here said.
