'Shallow' diver aims for '40ft jump landing in 12in-deep water' record!
London, Sept 4 : An American 'shallow' diver is attempting to break his own world record for landing in the least amount of water from the greatest height.
Darren Taylor, dubbed Professor Splash holds the record by diving from 35ft 5in into just 12 Inches of water in a kids' paddling pool.
Taylor will attempt to dive from 40ft and landing in 12in-deep water live on Jimmy Kimmel show next week.
He said his secret is "transforming myself into a different being".
"I become rock hard. I feel no pain," the Sun quoted him, as saying.
But he felt plenty when he tried his first shallow dive seven years ago - and missed the water.
"I jumped 'out' instead of 'up' and landed in the front of the pool on my face. It hurt - and scared me," he said.
