Hyundai's 'small car' to hit roads soon

New Delhi, Sep 4: With a view to give a tough competition to the Tata's 'People Car', Hyundai Motors India Ltd (HMIL) is developing a smaller car in the Santro segment.

''To combat Rs one lakh Nano car of Tatas, we are developing a smaller car in the Santro segment,'' HMIL Managing Director H S Lheem told reporters here on Thursday, Sep 4. HMIL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of South Korea's Hyundai Motor Company, is the second largest and the fastest growing car manufacturer in India. It presently markets 30 variants of passenger cars across segments, with the Santro in the B segment.
