HC requests CBI not to frame chargesheet against five accused

Kolkata, Sep 4 (UNI) An appeal bench of Calcutta High Court today requested CBI not to frame chargesheet against five of the seven accused in Rizwanur case till September 9 as their plea was pending before the bench. The court will further hear the appeal on Tuesday next.

The appeal bench comprising Chief Justice Surinder Singh Nijjar and Mr Justice Maharaja Sinha urged CBI council to communicate it to the central investigating agency.

The bench is hearing the plea of the five accused, including three police personnel and Ashok Todi, who moved the court challenging a single bench order.

A single bench of the court asked CBI to issue chargesheet against seven people indicted in the report of the investigative agency before the court on an order.

The Rizwanur case came before the court after his mother filed a writ petition seeking a CBI enquiry into the death of her son.

Rizwanur, who married a Hindu girl Piyanka, was found dead near railway track in Septemer 2007 in the eastern outskirts of the city.
