Free surgery camp in Lifeline express opened

Kakinada, Sep 4 (UNI) A free surgery camp for correcting cleft lips, ear and eye ailments in the Lifeline Express train was inaugurated at samalkot railway station near here today.

East Godavari District Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi inaugurated the camp, being jointly organised by Impact India Foundation, Unicef and Rotary organisation.

Mr Dwivedi called upon the people in rural areas to avail of the opportunity for getting surgical treatment.

He said cleft lips cases would be screened and surgeries conducted from September five to nine. Hearing problem cases would be attended on September ten and surgeries performed from September 11 to 15. Similarly, for cataract patients screening would be done on September 16 and operations carried out from September 17 to 20.

Impact India Foundation Chief Executive Officer Col Viswam said so far they had conducted free surgery camps at 102 places.
