Bangladesh keeping close watch on Singur: Badal
Kolkata, Sep 4 (UNI) Bangladesh Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal Executive Chairman Moinuddin Khan Badal today batted for an immediate solution to the Singur impasse on Tata's small car project for the sake of industrialisation.
''The Bangladesh government is keeping a close watch on the Singur imbroglio. The incidents taking place in the area are not good for the people of Bengal. The issue needs to be sorted out for the interest of young generation to promote employment opportunities,'' Mr Badal told newspersons here.
''Industry cannot set up on either sea or sky. Therefore, land acquisition is necessary for industrialisation in the era of globalisation. There can be no compromise with it,'' he added.
Referring to the Tata's pullout from Bangladesh, he said, '' The issue is totally different from West Bengal. The Tatas had demanded an uninterrupted gas supply from the Bangladesh government for 20 years, which was not possible for the latter to meet. Now, they will decide whether to go for industry there or not,'' he added.
The all India Forward Bloc and JSD had established a ''party to party relation'' and an agreement between the parties had been signed in New Delhi, in this regard, he further informed.
