AASU dharna against electronic media
Guwahati, Sept 4 (UNI) The All Assam Students Union (AASU) today staged a dharna against the private national news channels for not covering Assam flood adequately.
Hundreds of protestors including women took part in the dharna.
They alleged that the Channels were not covering the plight of the Assam flood affected properly as it was in the case of Bihar.
The AASU held channels responsible for the alleged discriminatory treatment towards Assam.
Like many opposition parties of Assam, AASU too blamed the Centre for not giving due attention and help to the flood victims in the state.
They alleged that the Assam flood was equally devastating neither the Centre nor the Railway or the ONGC bothered to help the state.
