3 killed in truck-jeep collision

Rajgarh(MP), Sep 4 (UNI) Three people were killed on the spot and two others injured when a jeep boarded by them collided head-on with a truck near Madhopura village on Agra-Mumbai national highway about 15 km from here early this morning.

Police said the impact of the mishap was so intense that the rescuers had to take out the dead bodies with the help of gas cutters.

The accident occurred in a bid to save the vehicles from the ditches on the road, police said, adding two of the deceased belonged to Kanpur.

Traffic on the highway remained disrupted for three hours following the accident.

The injured were rushed to Bhopal's Hamidia hospital. The driver and cleaner of the truck were absconding, police said.
