Wire theft disrupted train services on Howrah division
Kolkata, Sep 3 (UNI) Train services on Bandel-Katwa section of Eastern-Railway's Howrah division were affected today following theft of about 60 mts Anti-Creep-Wire of overhead power supply system between Dainhat and Katwa stations.
Due to this two pantographs of BK-1 Up Bandel-Katwa local were damaged and the train was detained between Dainhat and Katwa for four hours from 0724 hours.
After primary repairing of the pantographs, train services upto Katwa resumed at 1158 hours after completion of repairing of overhead wire of the affected portion.
Meanwhile, train services were maintained upto Agradwip station.
Consequently, three down EMU locals had to be cancelled from Katwa and two other local trains of Bandel-Katwa section were short terminated at Agradwip station.
The 3466 Dn Malda Town-Howrah Intercity Express and 2518 Down Guwahati-Kolkata Garib Rath Express were detained enroute for about 45 minutes each on an average.
