WAPSCOS pays 155 per cent dividend to the Government

New Delhi, Sep 3 (UNI) WAPCOS Limited, a consultancy service provider, in water resources, power infrastructure projects in over 40 countries, presented the dividend cheque of Rs 3.10 crore working out to 155 per cent on the paid up capital to Union Water Resources Minister Saifuddin Soz for the year 2007-08.

WAPSCOS Chairman and Managing Director, D Dutta, presented the dividend cheque to Prof Soz in the presence of Secretary, Water Resources, U N Panjiar, Additional Secretary S Manoharan, and other senior officials of the Ministry.

Prof Soz appreciated the good work executed by the WAPSCOS, a Mini Ratna enterprise under the Ministry of Water Resources and wished the company success in various ongoing consultancy projects.

The company has been working in projects in countries like Afghanisatan, Cambodia, Zimbabwe, Bhutan, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Zambia, Uganda, Swaziland, Eretria, Rwanda, Sudan and in almost every states in India.

The dividend declared works out to 155 per cent on the paid up capital happens to be the highest since its inception in 1969. Based on audited data, it has achieved a unique score of 1.0, which is the highest achievable score as per the MoU evaluation system of the Department of Public Enterprises, Government of India. It is now eligible to be placed for the excellent time in succession, an official release said.
