Tribute to VHP leader, 'Kalash yatra' to commence on Sep 8
Bhubaneswar, Sep 3 (UNI) Several programmes have been chalked out by the followers of Swami Laxamanand Saraswati, killed by unidentified assailants on August 23, to pay tributes to the great saint.
RSS national executive member Ram Madhavji told newspersons here that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was told about the programmes, which would be held as per the rituals.
As per the programme, a 'Kalas yatra' carrying the soils from Swamiji's 'Samadhi' and his photograph would be organised throughout the country from September 8 to 23.
Memorandum protesting the killing would be submitted to each state Governor. In Orissa, the 'yatra' would touch almost every village.
On September 7, a 'Sivalinga' would be installed on the 'Samadhi' of the Swamiji and homa, yajna and bhajan would be organised at the Chakapada Ashram.
The Swami Laxamananda Saraswati Shradhanjali Samiti would organise a silent rally of around 1,000 'sadhus' in Bhubaneswar on September 6, to protest the murder. Later in the day, the 'sadhus' would hold a meeting to express their love and pay tributes to the great saint.
