Punjab releases Rs 11 crore for college teachers
Chandigarh, Sep 3 (UNI) The Punjab Government today released an instalment of Rs 11 crore as 50 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) merger in the basic pay of government - aided colleges in the state.
Besides, the Carrier Advance Scheme (CAS) for the librarians and physical education lecturers of aided colleges had also been implemented.
Disclosing this here today, Education Minister Upinderjit Kaur said the higher education department had received a memorandum of the Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers Union in this regard.
The government has acceded to their genuine demand by releasing the pending instalment of 50 per cent DA merger pending since 2002.
She said that the CAS for aided colleges had also been implemented from August six onwards.
