MP: Panchayat officials emoluments raised

Bhopal, Sep 3: About 8500 office-bearers of Panchayati Raj institutions in Madhya Pradesh will be benefitted with increase in their monthly honorarium, sumptuary allowance and other facilities.

District Panchayat Presidents, Vice Presidents and members, Block Panchayat Presidents, Vice Presidents and Members will benefit with increased remuneration to be paid from grants to be provided under revenue from minor minerals, official sources said.

District Panchayat Presidents and Vice Presidents would be paid honorarium and other allowances at par with Municipal Corporation Mayor with increased monthly honorarium of Rs 6,000, sumptuary allowance of Rs 900 and telephone facility at par with government's head of office.

District Panchayat members have been declared at par with Municipal Corporation Corporators with monthly honorarium of Rs 4000, Block Panchayat President will be treated at par with Municipal Council Chairman with monthly remuneration of Rs 2000, sumptuary allowance of Rs 1200 besides telephone facility at par with head of office.

Block (Janpad) Panchayat Vice Presidents will also be at par with Municipal Council Vice Chairman with monthly emoluments of Rs 1600, sumptuary allowance of Rs 500 and telephone facility at par with head of office.

Block Panchayat members will be equal with Municipal Council members with monthly emoluments of Rs 1200.
