Nitish directs for expediting relief work
Purnia, Sept 3(UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today directed the authorities to further expedite the relief work in the flood affected areas of North Bihar.
After an aerial survey of the flood ravaged areas, Mr Kumar held a high-level meeting here and directed the officials to further speed up the relief and rescue operations.
He also asked them to rescue those who were trapped in the flood water in the remote areas.
Mr Kumar asked the officials engaged in the relief work to provide adequate facilities to the flood victims in the relief camps.
He asked the officers to make arrangements for safety and security of the rest of the embankments.
The meeting was attended by the principal secretary of the state disaster management department R K Singh, Kosi range DIG S K Jha, Commissioner of Purnia R K Khandelwal, DM Shridhar C, SP Bachuchu Singh Mina and others.
