397 confirmed cases of Dengue reported in Haryana
Chandigarh, Sep 3 (UNI) As many as 397 confirmed cases of Dengue were reported in Haryana so far this year, with 320 cases recorded in Gurgaon alone, Health Minister Kartar Devi told the State Assembly today.
''Uptil September 1, 397 confirmed cases of Dengue have been reported, out of which 320 cases are from the district of Gurgaon,'' the Minister said in reply to a calling attention motion on the increasing incidence of Malaria and Dengue cases in the state.
She said Dengue outbreak was reported in the state during 1996, when 1,642 cases were reported and 54 people died. Last year, there were 365 confirmed cases of Dengue in the state.
Regarding Malaria, she said 24,343 cases of the disease were reported in the state so far this year.
As far as Chikungunya was concerned, only one case was reported in Haryana this year, while no case of Japanese Encephalitis was recorded, the Minister added.
