Teenager feared drowned in Bengal
Coochbehar, Sep 2 (UNI) A girl was feared drowned today when a boat carrying 40 school students capsized in the river Singimara at Sitalkucchi in Coochbehar.
Police said while the other students managed to swim ashore, Chandana Sarkar(13),a class seven student, was missing.
After the incident, police, civil defence, SDPO, and SDO rushed to the spot.
Coochbehar District Magistrate Rajesh Sinha said efforts were being taken to recover her body, adding the BSF had been apprised of the incident as the river entered Bangladesh.
