Process for approving works under Kisan Sadak Nidhi amended

Bhopal, Sep 2 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh cabinet meeting -- chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan -- here today decided to amend the process of approval of works under the Kisan Sadak Nidhi.

The meeting decided that payment of residual dues of loans taken by the Madhya Pradesh Grameen Sadak Paradhikaran will be repaid from available funds of the Kisan Sadak Nidhi.

According to an official release issued here today, Rs 75 crore per annum would be made available to the Madhya Pradesh Grameen Sadak Pradhikaran from the Kisan Sadak Nidhi for maintenance of roads constructed with the funds of the Kisan Sadak Nidhi.

Following this, remaining available funds would be utilised for construction of roads and infrastructure in Mandi areas with the help of technical staff of the Mandi Board.

It has also been decided that during the next five years escrow loan should be availed from financial institutions against the funds received under the Kisan Sadak Nidhi after assessment.

The Mandi Board will build various basic infrastructures in Mandi areas by utilising this loan.

The meeting decided to constitute a committee to be chaired by the Chief Minister for approving works to be undertaken under the Kisan Sadak Nidhi.

Agriculture Minister, Principal Secretary/Secretary Agriculture, Secretary Public Works and Secretary Rural Development will be members of this committee while its convener will be managing director of the Madhya Pradesh Rajya Krishi Vipanan Board.

Necessary amendments will be made in the Madhya Pradesh Krishi Upaj (Rajya Vipanan Vikas Nidhi) Niyam 2000 for making necessary changes in the process for approving works under Kisan Sadak Nidhi, the release added.
