Naik enquires about hijacked ship and missing Goan sailor
Panaji, Sep 2 (UNI) Rajya Sabha member from Goa Shantaram Naik has expressed concern with Secretary of the Union Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, A P V N Sarma, about the fate of Goan sailor, Anthony Clive Thimudo, who was onboard the hijacked ship 'MV Iran Deyanat'.
The vessel was hijacked in the Red Sea on August 21 and there is no information about the personnel onboard the ship.
Mr Naik contacted the members of Mr Thimudo's family in Navelim and obtained the details of the missing sailor.
He has also faxed letters to Union Minister for Shipping T R Baalu and Director General of Shipping, Mumbai, Mrs Kiran Dhingra equesting them to ascertain the status of the hijakced ship and the sailor.
