Man pulls out his second eye to fulfil vow to Lord Shiva
Bagalkot, Sep 2 (UNI) Mudakappa Karadi, an ardent devotee who had pulled out his right eye to fulfil his vow to Lord Shiva, today gouged out his left eye too at a temple at Adagal of Bagalkot district.
Police said Karadi (41), after pulling out his right eye on August 28, was being treated as 'Modern Bedar Kannappa.' The farmer, a 'Kuruba' by caste, believed that Lord Shiva would perform a miracle and restore his eye sight and bless him with wealth.
A profusely bleeding Karadi, who was NOT ruffled even as he chanted the name of God, was admitted to Kamarsa Hospital in Bagalkot.
According to family sources, he had been struggling to bring up his eight children. His wife also supported him saying that Lord Shiva had ordered him to do so.
Meanwhile, hundreds of people thronged the place of worship and started worshipping the eye.
