Mallya lashes out at K'taka police on discotheque closure
Bangalore, Sep 2 (UNI) UB Group Chairman and former Rajya Sabha member Vijay Mallya today criticised the Karnataka Police for its move to ban discotheques and night clubs operating after 2300 hrs.
Addressing a press conference after announcing the introduction of the first-ever Bangalore-London flight of his Kingfisher airlines from tomorrow, Mr Mallya said the move would not augur well for any city which assumes cosmopolitan status.
''I will rather sit on a dharna to protest against linking law and order to the night clubs and discotheques,'' he said.
When cities like Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai had no problem with night clubs operating after midnight, how could Bangalore be an exception, he asked.
