Imported brides for Serbia's bachelors!!

Moscow, Sep 2: Believe it or not!! The Government of Serbia is facing an unusual situation of lack of brides for 2,50,000 lovelorn bachelors in the country. So, the Government of Serbia has taken the step of importing 2,50,000 brides from neighbouring countries!! Talks by the social services chiefs are on with neighbouring countries like Ukraine, Moldova and Russia also Vietnam, Burma and Cambodia.

“There are 250,000 unmarried young men in Serbian villages who would like to get married but have no women to marry. I have already talked with the Ukrainian embassy and we realised that there are areas in there with many more women than men and that presents opportunities for both sides," says Zeljko Vasiljevic, Secretary of State for Social Policy.

“There is a lot of potential in brides from these countries as the girls there are traditionally groomed about bearing children, they can also do agricultural work," he added.
