Govt.succeeds to give impetus in development : Chouhan

Bhopal, Sep 2 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today claimed that the government was succeded to give an impetus to development with the help of better financial management during his four and half year regime.

In a meeting with the Indian representative of Department For International Development (DFID) Michael Anderson at the secretariat here, Mr Chouhan said there should not be any lapse of annual plan after implementation of sixth wage board's recommendation.

''The finanacial burden due to the implementation of wage board's recommendation will be balanced through better financial management and strategies to enhance revenue'', the Chief Minister said.

While expressing satisfaction over the aid received for DFID so far, Mr Chouhan urged more help from the Britain-based organisation in the field of health, energy and financial management.

Mr Chouhan apprised Mr Anderson about his goverment's achievements in the field of education health and infrastructural development.He said in the power section the government had achieved a remarkable feat by enhancing 3147 MW electricity while 40 thousand km stretched road was constructed during his tenure.

Terming Madhya Pradesh as the most investment-friendly state in the country, Mr Chouhan said the state had already implemented Rs 88 thousand crore MoUs out of total 2.22 lakh crore through investors' meet.

DFID deputy chief Mark Louis and senior state government officials were present during the meeting.
