China insists on Pakistan rescuing missing engineers

Beijing, Sept. 2 : China on Tuesday urged Pakistan to rescue two Chinese engineers who went missing last week and ensure their security.

"We have demanded Pakistan go all out to rescuing the two missing engineers and ensure their safety," Xinhua quoted Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu as telling a press conference here.

The two employees of Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment Company (ZTE) were declared missing on Friday, shortly after they had gone to check on equipment in the Lower Dir district of the Northwest Frontier Province.

Jiang said the government attached great importance to the incident and relevant departments were involved in further checking the issue.
