Britannia Treat's mascot to make Bollywood debut
Mumbai, Sept 2 (UNI) The animated version of mischievous brand character of Britannia's Treat biscuits- '' Funtoon'' will team up with child actors-- Zain Khan and Sweenie Khara in the upcoming film ''Hari Puttar'' that will be released on September 19.
The film, produced by Mirchi Movies of the Times Group, is aimed at kids (six-12 years) and families, and will be supported by Britannia Industries' Treat brand of biscuits.
''Earlier people have tried to incorporate brands in movies, but most of them have come out as tacky. Here the brand is a natural fit and is an integral part of the film and not forcefitted,'' stated Sales, Marketing and Innovation VP Neeraj Chandra at a launch function here today.
Mr Chandra said that 'Funtoon' as a character was developed by advertising team at McCann WorldGroup and personifies naughtiness and playfulness that are characteristics of every child.
''We will reach out to one million children of 1,000 schools to promote the film and the brand,'' Mr Chandra said.
''We will also invest in a 360 degree multimedia campaign that would include competition via SMSes and a trip to Disneyland as the Grand prize,'' he added.
