Rajiv Gandhi Insurance Scheme to be implemented in Mah
Mumbai, Sep 1 (UNI) The Rajiv Gandhi Insurance Scheme is being implemented in Maharashtra for all students from standard first to their higher education, from August 27, 2008 to August 26, 2009.
The United India Insurance Company has been given permission to implement this Scheme in the State, under which two crore 42 lakh children will be insured for the year 2008-09.
Annual premium of Rs 70 per child (alongwith Central Service Tax) will be paid by the Government to the United India Insurance Company, a release issued here said.
The Scheme is applicable to students of all registered schools, colleges, educational institutes under the administrative department of School Education, Higher and Technical Education, Tribal Development, Agriculture, Social Justice, Cultural Affairs and Medical Education.
