Minister refutes allegations on dumping of solid waste
Hyderabad, Sep 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Municipal Adminstration Minister Koneru Ranga Rao today refuted the allegations made by a member that solid waste in Visakhapatnam was being dumped in an open area.
Replying to a question raised by nominated member Revu Ratna Kumari during Question Hour in the Council, the minister said the solid waste was being dumped in the dumping yard of 100 acres situated in Kapuluppada village, which was away from the city and surrounded by mountains.
He said there was a proposal to start a solid waste management plant and also set up a waste processing plant and energy plant.
The plants were likely to start functioning within two years, he added.
