Heritage train to add colour to Dasara festivities
Mysore, Sep 1: A special heritage train will be run to add colour to the world-famous Dasara festivities beginning from September 30.
Southern Railway sources said the train hauled by a steam engine would run between Mysore and Nanjanagud.
The special locomotive brought from Haryana, would be run showcasing old rail-cum-road Kabini river bridge, on the route between Mysore and Nanjangud. The bridge was abandoned long back and a new bridge was constructed for broadguage line.
In 2004, a heritage train 'Rajahamsa' was run between Mysore and K R Nagara in the district with the engine that was used for running train between Boribunder and Thana to commemorate the first railway service.
