Governor greets people on Ramzan-ul-Mubarak
Srinagar, Sep 1 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor, N N Vohra today greeted the people on the commencement of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak and prayed for peace and tranquility in the State.
In a message, the Governor said the holy month of Ramazan is a special time for fasting, service and prayers. It highlights the values of patience, self-restraint, tolerance and austerity.
It also improves the quality of mind, promotes feelings of compassion and respect for others and reinforces faith in the benevolence and mercy of the Almighty, he added.
Mr Vohra hoped that the people would observe this month by sharing their joys generously with the poor and the needy in true spirit of the great tenets of Islam.
