Doordarshan to telecast live IBSF World Championship Semi and finals

Bangalore, Sep 1(UNI) Doordarshan Sports Channel will telecast live the Semifinal and Finals of the IBSF World Billiards Championship which began today at the Karnataka State Billards Association (KSBA).

Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) Vice President S Balasubramaniam, who is also tournament Organising Committee Chairman, told UNI that the DD would telecast live the Semifinals and final of the 'Points Format' scheduled for September Four and five respectively.

The DD would also telecast live the Semifinals and final matches of the 'Timed Format' on September 9 and 10 respectively, he added.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Minister for Medical Education Ramachandra Gowda, speaking after inaugurating the tournament, announced on behalf of the State Government a cash prize of Rs One lakh to each of the title winners in 'Point Format' and 'Timed Format'.
