D Subba Rao appointed Reserve Bank of India Governor
New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) Mr D Subba Rao, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance, was today appointed Governor of the Reserve bank of India.
He succeeds Dr Y B Reddy, who will be retiring soon.
Mr Rao's appointment was announced by Finance Minister P Chidambaram here today. His term will be for three years.
Mr Subba Rao, an IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, is a post-graduate in Physics and PHD in economics.
