Suspected criminal killed in encounter

Ghazipur, Sep 1: A suspected criminal was gunned down in a police encounter in Suhawal area here on Monday, Sep 1.

On a tip-off, police laid a cordon at Bhadora village to nab the criminal, who had escaped from the district jail.

Seeing the police approaching, the criminal and his accomplice fired at them and one Kuber Kushwaha was killed in retaliatory firing, whereas others managed to escape, police said However, police have denied that the man killed in the encounter had any criminal background.
