CPM accused BJP practicising 'Facism' to retain power
Bangalore, Sep 01(UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist) has accused that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka is adopting 'Facism' to remain in power permanently by luring the members of the opposition parties into its fold, which is posing danger to the very fundamentals of the democracy.
Speaking in a seminar on 'Legislator's defection for money and power' organised by Janapada, an NGO here today state CPI(M) Secretariat member and former legislator G V Sreerama Reddy said the present trend of defection was being encouraged by the ruling party only in the interest of retaining power and not to pursue any development.
Coming down heavily against the statement of the 'turncoats' that they are resigning to the state assembly for the sake of 'development of their constituency' has no basis. "the defections are being defended to serve their own personal and selfish interests, which and are against democratic principles" he said.
