CPI in Pondy holds demo on Orissa incident
Puducherry, Sep 1 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) today held a demonstration near the Periyar statue here to condemn the attack on Christians in Orissa.
Led by State Secretary Na Ra Kalainathan, the participants shouted slogans condemning the incident.
Meanwhile, members of the Domestic Maid Servants Association, affiliated to the CITU, today held a demonstration in front of the Collectorate at Saram here to press their demands, including enrollment in the unorganised sector welfare association, provision of free house sites and construction of tenements to those living in rented houses.
