Congress welcomes settlement of Amarnath land row
New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) The Congress today welcomed the settlement of the Amarnath land allotment between the Jammu and Kashmir government and the Shri Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti, and asked all stakeholders to implement the negotiated settlement.
"We hope the people will continue to be united in their endeavour to bring development and communal harmony and ensure that Jammu and Kashmir continues to be the manifestation of secular fabric of India," AICC Spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan told mediapersons.
She asked the Centre and the state to ensure that there was no sense of alienation among any section of society. Ms Natarajan asked the Centre and the Jammu and Kashmir government to be committed in resolving all issues and making sure that there was no voices raised against the secular and integral character of the state.
She said those affected by the violence should be adequately compensated.
