BHEL contract workers stage demo for regularisation

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 1 (UNI) Hundreds of Contract Employees of Public Sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) along with their family members staged a novel demonstration carrying meal plates in their hands, in front of the Collectorate here today.

They were demanding, among other things, regularisation of service. They contended that they had been working in BHEL as contract labourers for the past 28 years.

BHEL authorities were now recruiting new workers for the ongoing expansion of the BHEL, here. They wanted that they should also be absorbd as permanent employees.
