5 of family found dead in Mankada, Kerala

Malappuram, Kerala, Sep 1: Five members of a family were found dead at Mankada in the district early on Monday, September 1. Police said body of Parakkal Mohammed Ali (45) was found hanging in his room, while those of his wife Nadira (30), sons Hijar (12), Mishal (8) and Shahat (5) were lying on a bed.

Preliminary inquest indicated four of them died after intake of poisonous substance, police added. However, the exact cause of the death could only be ascertained after postmortem, they said, adding further investigation was on.
