Mah: 13-year-old killed, 5 injured due to lightning

Nashik, Sep 1: A 13-year-old boy was killed and five others were injured due to lightning in two incidents in the district yesterday.

The boy, identified as Ravi Narayan Sabhadinde, a resident of Rajivnagar area of the city, was killed after a lightning struck him when he went outside his home for some work. Ravi's relatives took him to civil hospital, but was declared dead before admission, the sources said today.

In another incident at Shinde village of Chandwad taluka of the district, five women were injured when a lightning struck a temple where they had taken shelter during the rains. One of them was seriously injured. She has been admitted to the civil hospital here, while four others are recuperating at Vadalibhoi Primary Health Care Centre.

Meanwhile, the city and the adjoining areas were lashed by heavy rains yesterday. Dindori, Sinnar, Chandwad and Niphad talukas of the district also received rains, sources added.
