Singur stir unfortunate for WB, India: Narayana Murthy
Bangalore, Aug 31 (UNI) Reacting to the ongoing agitation in Singur against the Tata Motors' Nano project, Infosys Technologies Board Chairman N R Narayana Murthy today said it will unleash fear and uncertainty in the mind of all investors.
In a statement issued here, he said, ''The happenings at Singur in West Bengal will unleash fear and uncertainty in the minds of all investors in the country and abroad and could be a stumbling block in the excellent GDP growth India has demonstrated in the last decade.'' ''What has happened in Singur is unfortunate for West Bengal, for India and for all progressive Indians,'' he said.
''It is also a setback for job opportunities for youngsters in West Bengal. It is time that all well-intentioned Indians stand up and demand a peaceful, logical and constructive way of settling the issue of farm land in Singur and elsewhere in India,'' he added.
