RSS Chief welcomes restoration of Amarnath land
Nagpur, Aug 31 (UNI) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief K S Sudershan today welcomed the announcement of restoration of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board 'exclusively' during Amarnath Yatra period.
In a statement issued here, Mr Sudershan said Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SAYSS) convenor Leela Karan Sharma deserved to be congratulated for getting the issue resolved after three months of agitation. The Act allotting the land to the Shrine Board had been repealed by the Jammu and Kashmir government under pressure from separatist forces and in an attempt at appeasement, he alleged.
People of the state would not have gone through hardships and inconvenience, if the government had shown the courage to remain firm on the decision, Mr Sudershan said and added that the agitation for the restoration of the land was dubbed communal, but this was incorrect as it had the support of the people of the entire country.
Meanwhile, Rashtra Sevika Samiti chief Pramila Medhe has also congratulated the Samiti.
