Nicole Scherzinger reveals her 'cripplingly shy' past

London, Aug 31 : Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger has revealed that she had once been a very shy and awkward Catholic schoolgirl who couldn't get a boyfriend.

Scherzinger, 29, who is famous for her sexy stage routines and erotic outfits, was once an innocent and fresh-faced youngster.

"Believe it or not, I used to be cripplingly shy," the Sun quoted her as saying.

"My grandfather was a preacher. I came from a very religious, strict upbringing in Hawaii and I wasn't very popular. Guys just wouldn't go out with me," she added.

Scherzinger is now dating one of the world's most eligible bachelors, and she has even got the blessings of her mum Rosemary to date British Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton.
